Axanthic Granite
The Axanthic Granite combines two recessive mutations, both originating in Morelia spilota harrisoni: the Axanthic removes yellow pigmentation while the Granite disrupts the spatial pattern into dense micro-speckling. Both traits must be homozygous for the animal to be visually expressed.
The result is a high-contrast monochromatic animal – deep charcoal clusters on a cool grey base with virtually no warm tones. Selectively bred lines can approach near black-and-white. This animal has a mixed subspecies background.
The Axanthic Granite is a key component in Snow Granite projects (Albino + Axanthic + Granite) – the triple-recessive combination widely regarded as the most sought-after goal in Morelia spilota breeding.
