Ghost Jaguar
The Ghost Jaguar combines three mutations: the intermediately inherited Hypo and Jaguar, both from Coastal Carpet Pythons (M. s. mcdowelli), and the recessive Axanthic. Hypo reduces melanin, Axanthic suppresses yellow, and Jaguar disrupts and fragments the dorsal pattern. The result is a pale, smoky animal with fragmented pattern remnants in cool, desaturated tones.
Without a "pure Coastal" label, this animal has a mixed subspecies background. Ghost = Hypo + Axanthic exclusively – Caramel + Axanthic is a different combination.
As with all Jaguar combinations, mild head wobble may be present – a neurological trait associated with the Jaguar mutation that does not affect the animal's quality of life.
