het Granite
This animal carries the Granite allele in heterozygous form. Visually, it appears as a normal carpet python – Granite is recessive and requires two copies for visual expression. Het status is not visible and is determined through documented parentage.
Granite originates from Irian Jaya Carpet Pythons (M. s. harrisoni), tracing back to Piet Nuyten's founding stock. As a het carrier without a subspecies-pure designation, this animal has a mixed subspecies background.
Paired with another het Granite, statistically 25% of offspring will be visual Granites. Het Granites are essential for all Granite-based combination projects including Axanthic Granite, Albino Granite, and the triple-recessive Snow Granite.
