Zebra Jaguar het Albino

This animal is a visual Zebra Jaguar carrying the Albino allele in heterozygous form. Visually, it displays the bold, high-contrast Zebra Jaguar phenotype – jagged black-and-yellow banding from the interaction of Zebra and Jaguar pattern genes. The Albino het status is not visible and is determined through documented parentage.

Zebra is intermediately inherited from Jungle (M. s. cheynei), Jaguar from Coastal (M. s. mcdowelli), and Albino is recessive from Darwin (M. s. variegata). This is a documented multi-subspecies cross involving three lineages.

The hidden Albino allele provides breeding value for producing Albino Zebra Jaguars – a triple-morph combination where Albino removes all dark pigment from the bold Zebra Jaguar pattern. As with all Jaguar combinations, mild head wobble may be present – a neurological trait associated with the Jaguar mutation that does not affect the animal's quality of life.
