Albino
This is an Albino Carpet Python – a tyrosinase-negative (T−) color morph that eliminates all dark pigment, resulting in vivid yellow, orange, and cream tones with characteristic red eyes. Albinos listed without a subspecies qualifier (such as "pure Darwin") are animals whose lineage includes more than one Morelia spilota subspecies.
The Albino mutation originated in Darwin Carpet Pythons (M. s. variegata) and is inherited as a simple autosomal recessive trait. Even in mixed-subspecies backgrounds, the amelanistic phenotype is fully expressed – though color intensity and contrast can vary depending on the individual's genetic background.
As one of the most established recessive morphs in the complex, Albino is a key building block for combinations such as Sunglow (Hypo + Albino), Snow (Albino + Axanthic), and Moonglow (Hypo + Albino + Axanthic).
