Jaguar dblhet Albino Granite
This animal is a visual Jaguar carrying both the Albino and Granite alleles in heterozygous form. Visually, it displays the characteristic Jaguar phenotype – warm yellow-ocher ground with fragmented dark markings. The Albino and Granite het status is not visible and is determined through documented parentage.
Jaguar is intermediately inherited from Coastal (M. s. mcdowelli). Albino is recessive from Darwin (M. s. variegata), Granite is recessive from Irian Jaya (M. s. harrisoni). This is a documented multi-subspecies cross involving three lineages.
The double het status provides breeding value toward Albino Granite Jaguar – a triple-morph combination. As with all Jaguar combinations, mild head wobble may be present – a neurological trait associated with the Jaguar mutation that does not affect the animal's quality of life.
