Hypo Jaguar het Axanthic
This animal is a visual Hypo Jaguar carrying the Axanthic allele in heterozygous form. Visually, it displays the luminous golden Hypo Jaguar phenotype. The Axanthic het status is not visible and is determined through documented parentage.
Hypo and Jaguar are intermediately inherited, both from Coastal (M. s. mcdowelli). Axanthic is recessive. Without a "pure Coastal" label, this animal has a mixed subspecies background.
The hidden Axanthic allele enables production of Ghost Jaguars (Hypo + Axanthic + Jaguar) – a triple-morph combination where the Ghost's pale, desaturated appearance is combined with Jaguar pattern fragmentation. Ghost = Hypo + Axanthic exclusively. As with all Jaguar combinations, mild head wobble may be present – a neurological trait associated with the Jaguar mutation that does not affect the animal's quality of life.
