Sunglow het Axanthic
This Sunglow het Axanthic is visually a standard Sunglow (Hypo + Albino) – an extremely bright, warm-toned animal with vivid yellow to orange coloration and minimal pattern contrast. In addition, this animal carries the Axanthic allele in heterozygous form. Het status is not visible and is determined through documented parentage.
Hypo is intermediately inherited from Coastal (M. s. mcdowelli), Albino is recessive from Darwin (M. s. variegata), Axanthic is recessive. This is a documented subspecies cross.
The hidden Axanthic allele is the key to producing Moonglow offspring (Hypo + Albino + Axanthic) – a triple combination where all three pigment-reducing mechanisms act simultaneously, approaching the visual extreme of pigment elimination. Moonglow = Hypo + Albino + Axanthic exclusively.
