Snow
Snow is the double-recessive combination of Albino and Axanthic. Albino (tyrosinase-negative, from M. s. variegata) eliminates all melanin. Axanthic (from Coastal or Papuan lineage) suppresses yellow pigmentation. Together, these two independent recessive mutations remove virtually all pigment – the result is a nearly white animal with subtle pattern remnants in faint cream or lavender tones and pink to red eyes (from the Albino component).
Snow is one of the most sought-after double-recessive combinations in the Morelia spilota complex. Producing Snow requires both parents to carry both Albino and Axanthic alleles. Albino originates from Darwin (M. s. variegata), making this a documented subspecies cross.
Snow is not the same as Super Jaguar – Snow has pink/red eyes (Albino component), while Super Jaguar (leucistic, invariably lethal) has black eyes.
